Grimm Tales

Grimm Tales are three re-tellings of well-known Stories from the Brothers Grimm, written as plays ready to be staged in the classroom or on stage.  The author, Barry Upton has many years experience of writing and directing Youth Theatre and School Productions and brings this experience to this project.  They make good home readers too, with parents and children able to read together the various parts.

Piper! is based on The Pied Piper of Hamelin and draws on the famous poetry version by Browning as well as staying true to the Grimm Brothers version.

Chorus! follows the adventures of the Musicians of Bremen, four animals past their best  who are thrown out by their owners and seek a peaceful life together as musicians.

Spin! recreates the story of Rumpelstiltskin who must persuade Queen Gilda to give up her princess daughter in return for him spinning straw into gold.

All three of the tales are now available as musicals, and more details of their availability for performance can be found on www.musicalgrimm.co.uk

The three play-texts are published by Amazon Media and are available in paperback and e-reader formats.
